Randy I Bachman faisait partie de The Guess Who, la plus populaire formation canadienne de pop rock. Entouré de ses frères, il fait de BTO l'une des plus lucratives machines à boogie des années 70 du sur le continent américain. Spécialisé dans les puissantes road songs métalliques, le groupe décrocha même un tube mondial en 1974 avec le classique « You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet.
